June 22 – August 7, '09 Submit Intent to Graduate form and survey to Rm 107, ENG BLDG I for Fall 2009 graduation.
August 20, '09 CECS Graduate Student Orientation - 10:00AM– 12:00PM, Engineering II-102.
August 20, '09 Ph.D. Workshop (new and continuing students)
1:00 – 2:30pm. ENGII Bldg Rm 103. Contents: Intro to IEMS Ph.D. program, admission requirements, qualifying examination, overview of candidacy and dissertation requirements
MS Program Workshop (new and continuing students), ENGII Bldg Rm 103, 2:30 – 4:00pm, Contents: Program requirements, program of study, thesis requirements and procedures, oral comprehensive examination, assistantships, tuition waivers.
August 21, '09 GTA Training Deadline (mandatory for graduate assistants who will be working directly with students in any way).
August 23, '09 Registration ends—ENGII 312 for SASS audits; ENGI 107 for registration.

October 15 '09 IEMS Candidacy Oral Exam Deadline for PhD students wanting to convert Doctoral Research hours to Dissertation hours.
October 16, '09 Withdrawal Deadline.
October 21-22, '09 Masters Oral Comprehensive Examination
October 23, '09 MS students submit a bookmarked PDF draft of your thesis to the editor for a format review. Students who fail to submit their thesis by this date will not be granted a format review in time for final submission.
October 23, '09 MS Thesis/Dissertation Proposal Deadline.
November 6, '09 Thesis/dissertation defense deadline.
NOTE: Announcement of defense MUST be sent to Joy TWO weeks prior to defense date. One page abstract MUST be approved by the thesis/dissertation advisor before it is sent. All Thesis/Dissertation Chairs, Co-Chairs and Committee members MUST be present at defense. NO food and drinks allowed.
